  1. Hope that the govt can restore the peace after the rebel RED forces brought havoc to the streets.

Please urge all violent protestors to consider peaceful talks before bashing in vehicle and skulls.

  2. First of all, for all non-Thais seeing this post, I would suggest you take it with a grain of salt. The Red Shirts (UDD--you know, the ones closing all the streets) have been known to put up a lot of lies on the net before. To be honest, so do the yellow shirts. And this is clearly one of them.

I saw the vid on youtube, and no, there was no firing.
That's the normal "ready post"--if you have ever handled a gun in your life, you know that that's how you hold the guns normally. Just because someone hold a gun that way doesn't mean they are firing. If anything, the way he stands (front facing) gives away the fact that he's not firing. Real people do not face front when they're firing, only when they're moving. You turn to your side and drop the weight of the gun onto your hips.

Also, the actual youtube clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jMkorJtasU (around 1:42)
shows that there was no firing going on. You would see a LOT of muzzle flash off of an M16, especially at night. Hell, it's visible during the day! There was some firecrackers going off (which I think is the reason that the soldiers became alarmed--an age old tactic), but that is definitely not the sound of a gun. I'd know..I've fired a LOT before.

  3. I also have to comment that the links on your page is very pro-Thaksin. That doesn't bode much for the credibility of this news.
